See what Ms. Earnshaw is requestingMy students need more chances for flexible seating and technology. Our school lacks any technology in the classroom for my students. They struggle to succeed with the lack of computer based learning.

My classroom is a co-taught classroom including students who have learning disabilities and emotional disabilities.
Many of my students have experienced many types of trauma from having parents killed, incarcerated, having family members taken away, or even having no home.
My goal for my students is to create a safe and positive learning environment. This can be tricky due to the wide range of students academic abilities and lack of supplies.
My students range from a kindergarten reading level and math strategy level all the way to a junior high level. This is challenging since we are all in one fourth grade classroom.
Even though my students are at such different ranges they are all willing to work and help each other learn. In order for me to reach such a wide range of students, I believe they deserve the best by having supplies to help them reach their goals.
Having chromebooks in the classroom will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. Since my classroom is co-taught I am in desperate need to help students who have IEP's to stay engaged in different ways. Another way they will be used is by using programs such as STRIDE and Bluestreak to help them learn at the differentiated levels they need. With the help of chromebooks and having a technology center I could download apps for differentiated math practice and reading level skills. This will allow to add a more engaging center to my guided math and reading centers. This would also allow me to have activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students.
My project will make a difference because it will help close the gap in between my lower and higher students.
Also my students are the digital natives and do not have the chance to use there technological knowledge in the classroom.
Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
