Chromebooks for Collaboration

My students need Chromebooks to revolutionize their learning as participants in the technological world we live in. They need the experience with technology, as they will be immersed in it next year in 6th grade.

My Students

As a first year teacher, my ultimate goal is to create an environment in my classroom where students are encouraged, motivated and challenged on a daily basis. My students come from diverse backgrounds and I would love to be able to support their various learning styles and interests with the resources in my classroom. I want them to be able to expand their skill sets while discovering the excitement that lies within every book, project, and assignment.

My school is a large school in Las Vegas, NV with 5th-grade class sizes ranging from 30-35 students.

My school does not qualify for Title I funding, therefore I do not have grant money or extra funding readily available. This project will go a long way to meeting my goals and providing an atmosphere that supports rigor and authentic learning experiences.

My Project

As 5th graders, my students will be going to middle school next year where all of their work will be done on Chromebooks. In order to better prepare them for that environment, I am seeking to expose them to as much technology as possible, which requires classroom access for my students. Having access to Chromebooks will not only prepare my students for their future, but I will also be able to focus more on students' individualized needs through small group instruction and customized programs.

By donating to my project, you will be giving my students access to programs to improve their learning, such as Google Classroom, MobyMax, Zearn, and Freckle.

My students will be better prepared for their future and what is to come.
