Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the most helpful, eager, and enthusiastic students I've ever encountered. I teach at a visual and performing arts magnet school, so my students love to express themselves creatively.
I teach at a Title I school in Southern California, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My school prides itself on excellence, despite its location in a low-income neighborhood. Students work hard and it shows! But, in order to cultivate their creativity and curiosity, my students need resources.
My Project
I'm requesting Chromebooks to allow me to create in-class projects that will offer my students opportunities to explore and learn in an engaging way.
Chromebooks will help me differentiate my instruction by providing small groups with educational support through the use of online reading, math, and science programs.
If funded, these Chromebooks will be used to help students learn to become fluent in technology, which includes typing, surfing the web, learning games to enhance their in-class assignments, and research skills. They will also be used to monitor progress in all academic areas, and will ultimately contribute to technological fluency and 21st Century Skills.
