This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are first graders in a k-5 elementary school in the city who have a love for learning! My students all come from many different backgrounds, including my students who are learning English as a Second Language. My students represent the future- and if it looks anything like my students, the future will be amazing!
Despite the many outside challenges my students face, they continue to be resilient in their learning and in their curiosity to about the world around them.
I fully believe that every student deserves to have a meaningful educational experience regardless of outside challenges they experience. They come into my room every morning ready to learn and deserve nothing but the best to ensure they are able to continue learning every day for the entire school year.
My Project
Station time is an essential part of our everyday language arts time. It gives the students time to practice fundamental skills while I work with my small reading groups. It's a time where they are not only working on a skill, but collaborating with other classmates.
I am asking for some TeachersPayTeachers resources that I believe will make my station time stronger and more efficient for ALL learners: for my students who are working above, below, and right at grade level.
In this project, I am asking for laminating sheets to help prepare these stations to be used everyday (and for future school years as well!). I am also requesting 5 resources from TeachersPayTeachers. Two of the resources are focused on sight-word knowledge, which will help my students recognize words faster. Two of the resources are writing centers that will help my students become stronger writers. Lastly, I am requesting a resource that provides activities for students who need reading intervention support.
