My Project

The ChompSaw is a kid-safe power tool designed specifically for children, with a protected cutting mechanism that won’t cut fingers, snag hair, or catch clothes, making it much safer than traditional saws or cutters. The ChompSaw encourages creativity and imagination.

Kids can use the ChompSaw to transform everyday cardboard (from boxes or packaging) into forts, costumes, playsets, dioramas, vehicles, robots and more — giving them a chance to imagine and build their own creations.

The ChompSaws will help my students build STEAM Skills. Using the tool supports hands-on learning in areas like science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). It helps children plan, design, test and refine their ideas as they build, which strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

These materials will enhance Fine Motor Skills & Coordination. Operating the ChompSaw and accessories like a hole punch or scoring tool helps improve hand–eye coordination and fine motor control — valuable skills for writing, crafting, and many everyday tasks. Unlike adult tools, the ChompSaw is designed to let kids learn about tool operation and safety in a controlled way, building confidence and respect for tools before they graduate to more advanced ones.
