Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, hardworking, and eager to learn. They love tackling challenges, sharing ideas, and thinking outside the box. Whether they are designing solutions to problems, building models, or collaborating with classmates, they approach STEM activities with enthusiasm and attention to detail.

My hope is to foster greater independence and confidence in my students by providing them with tools that empower them to create on their own.

Many students are surprised to learn that meaningful STEM and engineering projects can be built from simple materials like cardboard. The ChompShop tools will help students safely transform everyday materials into prototypes, inventions, and creative solutions.

These tools will allow students to engage in the engineering design process by asking questions, imagining solutions, planning, creating, testing, and improving their designs. As students work independently and collaboratively, they will develop problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills while taking ownership of their learning.

Most importantly, I want my students to experience the pride that comes from turning an idea into something real. By designing and building their own creations, students will see themselves as capable engineers, innovators, and creators who can make a difference with the materials around them.
