Imagine yourself being a student who is unable to focus on what the teacher is saying or being unable to make or spend quality time with your friends due to various mental health concerns.
My Project
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I have seen an increase in students' awareness when it comes to their own mental health. These students have been seeking many different ways to cope with their stressors, which, are increasing their difficulties in school and ability to emotional self-regulation.
These supplies will go a long way to help the mental health of students in upgrading the Chill Zone, Counseling Center, and providing tools for self-regulating
These items will be utilized in our calming station (Chill Zone) and counseling center for overwhelmed students, in therapy sessions, or in the classroom when a student is having a challenging time focusing. They will be taught various therapeutic techniques by a professional depending upon the individual needs and be provided the appropriate resource. Some of the other supplies within this project will go to further improve our calming station which is a place for students who are overwhelmed with emotions to take a break. This will include upgrading the lights, chair, air, and calming martial for the students.
