This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember those photos you have of yourself as a child and how viewing them can bring back such warm, pleasant memories?

Many of my students have very few photos of themselves.

When they create their autobiographical photo posters in my classroom, they often have a limited number of photos they can choose from. As these third grade years are so important in formulating their positive self-esteem and confidence, they need to know and see in photos how valuable and precious they are.

My Project

The two digital cameras and secure digital memory cards I am requesting will be used by both the teacher and the students to help capture this year's third grade memories. We will be making our individual "Third Grade Memories" booklets at the end of the school year, and I would love to have each student's booklet filled with photos. Hopefully, these photos will inspire them to write intriguing captions and captivating stories in their booklets.

Having these cameras will help me provide my students with the photos they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Their memories of third grade should not be limited to multiplication facts and determining the author's purpose of a story. I want them to have their fond memories of third grade documented in photos they can cherish forever.
