Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students as a whole have really started to blossom in understanding their emotions through the use of the Character Traits of Character Strong, taught each month. They are becoming more kind, compassionate and empathetic towards others. We are a rural Title 1 school with limited access to Social Emotional literature.

This project will allow the students to have a better understanding of character education that involves developing thoughtful, healthy, and kind human beings through the use of literature.

Our school goal is educating the whole child and shaping them into more compassionate human beings. We are teaching children to have self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making skills. Each month we celebrate a new character trait by reading stories that coincide with the trait.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
