it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am in my 4th grade era! Having recently moved to a new grade, at a new school, in a new district, I would love to offer my students a new and revamped classroom library by purchasing more age appropriate books. In the past, I have always been in primary grades and I quickly realized that, although picture books are excellent read alouds, my collection of books will not adequately serve my new group of fourth graders.
Fourth grade is a pivotal year for exposure to all genres and having access to a wide selection of books is of the utmost importance.
Over the years, I have put together a classroom library that is a cozy, welcoming space where students can dive into the perfect book regardless of interests or reading level. However, as a now upper grade teacher, I simply do not have enough chapter books to go around. By purchasing new chapter book series, I hope to better support my students in their quest for adventure, conflict, character evolution and, of course, fluency. The series I have selected are leveled to benefit all students regardless of where they may be on their reading journey. By purchasing some of these popular titles, I am confident there will be plenty of "just right" books for all of fourth grade to enjoy.
