With a subscription to Scholastic News and the online resources that are included, our students will be able to read on a regular basis about topics that are both current and interesting to 2nd graders. Imagine eight-year-olds being able to read about a school for orangutans, the Statue of Liberty, learning about recycling gum, understanding the importance of robots, or what it was like to immigrate to America in the 1900s. The students this year have benefited from articles like these, both reading them at school and then later at home. We would like to continue this again next year for the incoming 2nd graders.
