Help me give my students a word building center, stacking trays, a number talk center, and more for the tools they need to get excited about guided reading, writing, and math!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students love to learn while playing. I have 15 students who live in an urban setting. They are a creative group of students who amaze me every day with how they think outside the box when completing activities.
My students have done best when they have gotten to learn through play!
Learning through play is very important for their development as humans and learners. I would love to give them a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning environment that inspires life long learners.
My Project
The materials I have requested will help create awesome centers so my students can learn through play!
My goal is to set up a productive environment where children would develop their literacy and math skills while playing in centers!
My students will use these materials for literacy and math centers, as well as during times of free choice. The emphasis of literacy centers is on letter and sound mastery, which directly targets common core standards for kindergarten.
These materials will help my students because it gives me the tools needed to set up engaging centers to explore concepts and practice skills, as well as giving them the opportunity to self-direct learning, strengthen meaning and increase mastery.
Learning through play ensures my students will develop a love of learning and education, which is so important at this impressionable age!
