This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 5th grade DL teacher, Spanish materials are very scarce. As students are exposed to a brand new rigorous curriculum, they are in need of differentiated instruction. This form of differentiation can be provided through smaller skill-based reading centers that will help students conceptually understand. Most materials that I can use with my students are teacher-created and available on TPT.

One of the most significant benefits of small group instruction is the increased level of student engagement.

With fewer students in each group, each student has more opportunities to participate actively in discussions, ask questions, and collaborate with their peers. As ELLs, it is extremely important that they are given a safe space to learn.
