My Project

I love how our school staff comes together each day to support our students. From teachers and teacher assistants to office staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, and other school personnel, every member of our school community plays an important role in helping our students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Working in a Title I school with limited resources can be challenging, and I want to help create a culture where our staff feels appreciated, valued, and celebrated.

This project will help us launch a Sunshine Committee dedicated to spreading kindness, encouragement, and appreciation throughout our school.

The resources will allow us to celebrate staff birthdays, recognize accomplishments, brighten difficult days, and provide small reminders that the work our staff does truly matters.

Appreciation keychains, motivational notebooks and pens, birthday banners, and an end-of-year appreciation banner will help us recognize staff in meaningful ways. Snacks and treats will provide simple opportunities to brighten someone's day, while teacher appreciation cups and pens offer practical gifts staff can enjoy and use throughout the year.

Although these resources are not directly used by students, the impact on our students is very real. When educators and school staff feel appreciated and supported, they are better able to bring positive energy into their classrooms and their interactions with students. A school where adults feel connected, encouraged, and valued creates a stronger environment for children.

Our goal is not to provide expensive gifts, but to create small moments of joy and remind our school family that their hard work is noticed. A birthday banner, a sweet treat, or a simple token of appreciation can make a tremendous difference.
