I have a class full of amazing & fabulous first graders! We are a Title I school, which means that many of our students are at or below the poverty line. But my young scholars have inquiring and creative minds that can't wait to learn! They are truly the kindest, sweetest and most empathetic group of kiddos you will ever meet!
We focus on building relationships, whether we are learning in class or from home.
My Fabulous First Grader’s faces light up when they explore new learning! Although the Early Development Index has shown that students in La Habra come to school less prepared than anywhere else in the county, my Fabulous First Graders come to school ready to learn every single day!
Celebrating diversity is an integral component in creating a classroom environment that promotes inclusion, equity and acceptance.
There are many things things going on in our world today & now more than ever, my students need these books.
This literature will help me teach my students about inclusion, diversity and multiculturalism through literature. These books will help me with my lessons on diversity and will be used to help guide my students in their understanding about diversity. The characters in these books include people of all colors and will help my students feel represented, included and seen.
The books I chose for this project will enrich both our IB classroom an our classroom discussions greatly!
