My Students

I am a teacher in a small, elementary, Brooklyn neighborhood school. I am teaching third grade. My students are from diverse backgrounds and range in academic abilities from non-English speaking students to advanced learners and include general education, as well as special education students. My students are heterogeneously grouped. Many of my students face academic struggles and are in need of extra support.

My enthusiastic students are full of energy, love to express themselves, and actively participate in our classroom activities.

They are always ready to go on a new learning adventure. In September, they returned for in-person learning. My students love to learn and are eager to come to school every day.

My goal is to give them the best learning experience and make it a memorable year. My responsibility is to guide my students to become more independent to prepare for the rest of their academics. I believe the more engaged my students are, the better outcomes they will have.

My Project

In February we celebrate Black History Month followed by Women's History Month. These books will help my students learn about famous African Americans and famous women who contributed to the world and made positive impacts.

The best way for my students to learn about these important people in history is to be immersed in literature.

These books will launch our unit of study in writing and allow my students to have access to learn about many different people from the past and present. Also, the different reading levels will be used to meet their individual needs and allow every student to have an appropriate book to read. Learning about others who have impacted our lives and caused change is crucial.
