The technology and materials provided—especially the document camera and headphones—have helped students share stories in a meaningful, engaging way. When reading aloud, students can project books clearly so all listeners can follow along, which has strengthened comprehension, discussion, and attention for both the readers and the audience. The headphones have supported focus during small-group and independent literacy activities, allowing students to fully engage with reading tasks.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the opportunity to create and share their own literacy materials. Designing bookmarks, storyboards, posters, and challenges has made reading feel creative and purposeful rather than routine. They are especially motivated knowing their work will be used by other students across the school. Access to Teachers Pay Teachers resources has also been exciting, as it allows students to explore new literacy activities and gives them extra support to bring their ideas to life.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers have truly flourished through this project. Some who struggled with confidence now eagerly volunteer to lead read-alouds or explain reading strategies to younger students. Others who benefit from visual and hands-on learning have especially connected with the creative materials and technology, helping them better express their ideas and stay engaged. Overall, this project has empowered my first graders to see themselves as capable readers, leaders, and role models—positively impacting not only their own growth, but the entire school community.","fullyFundedDate":1760638688144,"projectUrl":"project/little-leaders-big-readers/9770269/","projectTitle":"Little Leaders, Big Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8163076_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692579457246","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8163076"},{"teacherId":7718380,"projectId":9723415,"letterContent":"Our class used the new resources during a Holidays Around the World that combined arts and crafts with culturally connected snacks.
