My Project

Classroom Book A Day quickly became my favorite thing to do! Each day, every day, I read a picture book to my class and we discuss the theme of the book and why the author wrote the book. We also work on visualizing, inferring skills, making connections, prediction and so much more! My kids look forward to this every day, and so do I!

I read 180 picture books to help build a classroom of students who love to read!

This has and will continue to help my students appreciate illustrations, pay closer attention to the writing craft of authors, find deeper meaning within the text of picture books, and have meaningful conversations about the text.

The variety of titles I have requested will help my students connect to various holidays throughout the school year. This project includes books on Presidents Day, Veterans Day, St. Patrick's Day, Hanukkah, the four seasons and more! I am hoping that incorporating holiday picture books will help our third graders understand some of the holidays many celebrate.

Help us reach our goal of 180 books! Your support will help build my classroom book a day library which is fostering a love of reading in my third graders! I am helping to build a classroom of readers and appreciate your support and donations!
