My Project

In my self-contained 3–5 classroom at a Title I school, my students have diverse learning needs and many face challenges that can impact their ability to focus, communicate, regulate emotions, and participate in instruction. I believe, as described in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, that students must have their basic needs supported before they can fully access learning.

This project will provide nutritious and comforting options such as Kellogg’s cereal cups, Quaker oatmeal, Rice Krispies Treats, Goldfish crackers, Capri Sun juice, Pop-Tarts, and Welch’s fruit snacks.

These resources will support morning routines, positive behavior reinforcement, social skills practice, and classroom engagement. By helping provide snacks and a sense of security, this project will allow my students to feel valued, supported, and prepared to achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
