Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I found a website called Learning Farm in which every Arizona educational standard from kindergarten through at least 8th grade is covered for the subjects of reading, grammar, math and science. When I introduced this website to my students, they absolutely fell in love with it. They would either pick a skill or I would assign a skill to them and they could pick one of eight games to play whenever they got a certain number of questions correct; usually two or three. They made it a class competition seeing who could get the highest score in Chicken Unicycle, or Chicken Volleyball or any other game on the website.

Whenever my students mastered a skill, they would show me their Chromebook with their score and they could pick from our candy jar that was full of bite sized candies like M&Ms, Twizzlers, and lollipops.

Because so many skills were being mastered by my students, our candy jar is quickly dwindling. We should have enough to last us through the end of the year, but I would like to have a fully stocked candy jar for my new batch of students when we return to school in July.
