Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach second grade in a high poverty school where resources are scarce. My students are very eager learners who thrive in a welcoming, inviting classroom. They have a desire to learn and are curious students.

I try to meet that challenge by designing innovative, hands-on learning opportunities.

You can connect students to learning through providing them with educational resources that inspire, motivate and equip them to be life-long learners and promote their development to be citizens of the world.

My Project

I am requesting headphones for our classroom iPads. Most of our students come to school without many (or any) supplies, including headphones which are needed on a daily basis. We have many (free and purchased) online educational programs to help our students get math and reading practice.

When iPads do not have headphones, it gets too noisy in the classroom and it is distracting to the other students trying to learn.

Headphones will improve my classroom because in order to be able to access the online educational programs, students must be able to hear the online program and use computers without distracting others.
