The donations from this project will give my students a new, inviting and comfortable place to read, relax and refocus. Many of them come from difficult home situations and others have experienced trauma. This project will provide an environment that will foster learning and engagement. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them and enhancing their learning. While books provide an escape from their harsh reality this cozy seating will provide a comfortable and safe haven for learning. This seating will allow them to sit comfortably on the floor wherever they wish. When students have flexibility, their learning also becomes more fun and engaging. Flexible seating in classrooms give students a choice about what kind of learning space works best for them.
