My Students

I teach in an offsite, public pre-k classroom that is paired with a Daycare/Children's Day Out program. We share 27 students among three programs. The combination provides a strong sense of community where teachers know all of the children and families. We see most parents several times a week for drop-off and pick-up. Many of the children have been in classes together since infancy creating many interesting, sibling-like relationships. They both support and challenge each other every day.

My students love listening to stories and collecting new vocabulary!

On the first day of school this year, these amazing 4-year-olds learned the word 'perimeter.' My goal for these young learners is to become passionate consumers of their own education!

My Project

In our Pre-K classroom, there are multiple iPads, two computers, and a CD player with a multiple headphone hub. It can be noisy and distracting to students to listen to audio speakers when there are various computers and apps running in the classroom. There is no better way to enhance our existing technology than by adding multiple sets of appropriate headphones.

Headphones to use for stories and apps would allow multiple children to participate simultaneously in a variety of activities in the classroom.

They would accommodate a range of interests and abilities that can exist in any learning environment. Headphones would help the students focus on their own activity rather than being distracted by the work of others.
