Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a class of 27 amazing third-grade students who make me smile every single day. They are kind, inquisitive, and always eager to learn new things. They have a deep interest in how the world works and what they can do to make the world a better place.

One of the things I love best about my students is that they don't let any challenges that life throws at them stand in their way.

Our school is a Title I school, which means that the majority of the families are low-income. It is a public school that receives city, state, and federal funding. With the economic climate nowadays, there is no money available for extra materials. Our parents want the best education possible for their children. Many work multiple jobs in order to pay their bills and cannot afford to donate money to the school, but they still donate time and lots of love. I know that we all would be extremely grateful for any supplemental materials that could help improve the quality of their children's education.

My Project

My students love using technology, but they are often limited to websites or programs that aren't very interesting or exciting. They love using educational websites that have interactive games and learning experiences, but the noise from these games is often distracting to the rest of the class.

With this set of classroom headphones, this distraction will be eliminated, and my students' online learning opportunities will become limitless!

They will be able to do research, practice essential reading and math skills, and learn to independently and safely navigate the web. These abilities are vital to becoming college and career ready in the 21st century.
