Help me give my students a quiet learning environment when they are plugged at technology stations. In addition, the lavaliere microphone will allow student to be heard during group reads and presentations in our classroom.
This is my second year teaching and I absolutely love fourth grade because the kids are developing life skills that take them the distance in education. Helping maintain focus in the classroom is every teachers challenge and this challenge has a solution.
Students currently work most of the day at desks with those uncomfortable chairs.
The classroom can be very busy at times with movement, groupings and problem-based learning. Due to limited space, I have a VIP Seating arrangement where student can earn the opportunity to sit at alternative seating sections of the classroom.
My students come to school to actively participate in their education. They are eager to please, hard-working, and appreciative. Limited restlessness and distractions by providing alternative seating helps redirect their energy back toward their education.
My Project
The use of technology is a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math, writing, and science. Using the workshop models of instruction throughout the day, students rotate through technology stations for guided practice and need to be able to tune out classroom noise and distractions. The headphones will allow students to focus on the skills at hand and stay engaged on the activity. I have tried asking parents for earbuds, but students misplace them and break them too often. Having a class set of headphones will allow me to monitor and keep headphones in a safe space when not in use.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn.
