Calming Down Area in Preschool

Help me give my students a way to manage their emotions. A calming area center provides a safe place of young children to go where they can calm down when they are feeling mad, sad, or nervous.

My Project

My students love calming classroom materials such as sensory toys, timers, squeezing toys, soft carpet, books, and feelings charts to learn to regulate their feelings. The calm down area will ball my students to go briefly to take a break from a frustrating tap or over stimulating activity. My students will learn to regulate their feelings and they will be able to focus and participate in the classroom.

Having a Calming Area in the classroom will give my students the opportunity to calm down and prevent misbehavior or distractions in the classroom.

The Calming area will allow my students to experience self-regulating emotions when they are having a difficult time in the classroom.
