This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class is a Preschool Special Education program. My little ones are 3-5 year olds with different needs and abilities. Most of my students have difficulties expressing their emotions through words. A calming corner would give them a safe and welcoming area where they can regulate their emotions when they are feeling sad, scared or angry. These materials would help give them some useful tools to calm those negative emotions that can impede them from learning. A student's emotional health is imperative in order for them to learn, grow and succeed in school!
