Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the most important and needed areas in my preschool special education classroom is the calming area. My students rely on this area as well as adult support to regulate their emotions, have a safe place to be able to gather themselves, and have a safe space for themselves.

Having a calming area with the appropriate tools will help my students regulate their emotions which will help them in their academic success.

I would like to add the necessary tools such as sensory tools, a couch, emotion friends to distinguish their feelings, among many other items to help my students throughout the day. These tools will help my little ones be able to regulate their emotions in a healthy way.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
