My Project

As a new behavior support teacher serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade, I have the privilege of working with resilient, compassionate, and determined children who overcome challenges every day. My students are special because each one learns in their own unique way, and many have sensory processing and social-emotional needs that affect their ability to regulate emotions, stay focused, communicate their needs, and participate successfully in the classroom.

The sensory items requested—including fidgets, weighted supports, calming visuals, and self-regulation tools—will make a meaningful difference by helping students manage stress, improve attention, develop coping strategies, and return to learning more quickly after becoming overwhelmed.

My goal for this project is to create a safe, calming, and supportive environment where students can build self-regulation skills, strengthen positive behaviors, and gain the confidence needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. By providing hugimals, Calm Strips, sensory fidgets, and hug balls, students will spend more time engaged in learning, develop greater independence, and experience the success they deserve. Your generosity will help create a space where every child feels understood, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
