My Project

Every day, I have the privilege of working with incredible elementary students through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling sessions. My students are resilient, kind, and eager to learn, but many are also navigating anxiety, big emotions, and challenges with self-regulation. When students feel overwhelmed, it can be difficult for them to focus, participate, and fully engage in learning.

These calming sensory tools will help my students build the confidence and emotional regulation they need to thrive.

Fidgets and anxiety-reducing textured stickers will provide students with healthy coping strategies during counseling sessions and in the classroom. These simple resources can reduce stress, improve focus, increase self-control, and help students return to learning more quickly after feeling overwhelmed. By giving students safe, hands-on ways to regulate their emotions, they can spend more time engaged in instruction and less time struggling with anxiety.

My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive counseling environment where every child feels safe, valued, and equipped with lifelong coping skills. My students are special because each one brings unique strengths, creativity, and potential to our school community. With these sensory resources, I can continue teaching them that it’s okay to have big feelings—and that they have the tools to manage them successfully.
