Calm Down & SEL Supports

Help me give my students a few manipulatives for our calm-down corner in the library.

My Project

The items requested in this project will be going to our calm down corner in the library and help support students with their Social Emotional Learning (SEL). We practice SEL strategies and support students who just, "need a minute," while in the library. The calm down corner is a popular place in the library. Not just for students who are angry or sad, but for students who just need a stimulation break.

These new fidget tubes, puppets, sensory bottles, and other materials will be used for all students in the school and directly support SEL outside the classroom.

My students know that everyone is welcome and safe in the library. Continuing to add new materials to the calm down corner will make my students feel validated in the importance of the space.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
