This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am completing my fifth year of teaching and want to continue providing anything that I can for my students. Many of our students live day-to-day and view coming to school as a way to escape their home lives. Some don't even have homes to go to! We try our best to provide students with access to after-school programs and technology, but with major budget cuts, we struggle to afford even basic supplies.

All students deserve a learning environment that speaks to how much the world believes in, relies upon, and expects of them.

Our students are the reason why we go above and beyond for them and they are worth it!

My Project

With the TI calculators, my students will feel good knowing they have their own classroom set without having to borrow from others. They will feel more compelled to compute their own word problems with pride and joy knowing they have easy access to calculators. With that said, who wouldn’t want the bonus of sweet Nutrigrain Bars? These healthy snacks will keep students motivated and focused on schoolwork rather than on their hunger. Many of my students depend on school lunches to have their meals and having snacks readily available for them would be an incredible opportunity!
