Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at my school are mostly English language learners and are from low-income families. They love learning new things and embrace academic challenges as they come. Being a Head Start program, in my classroom these students are given experiences to learn in various forms of child directed play and social interactions that help them develop the necessary skills for future academics. These are experiences with activities and materials that most students do not have access to outside our classroom.
My Project
The pocket charts, folders, and other supplies will help me to create the best possible learning environment for my students.
These materials are going to help me create a positive and welcoming classroom where my students will feel comfortable.
I will use the pocket charts to create a visual schedule, a question of the day board and to provide parents with materials on child development as well as various community assistance programs that our program offers. I will use the laminating machine to create classroom decorations, posters, and learning materials all year long as well as take home materials for the students and their families.
