Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most jobs that my students will be doing in the future haven't even been created yet. However, most of them will be in some sort of computer programming. This would be an awesome way to show them different ways you can code or program robots.
My students are very curious, talkative, and hands-on learners.
I teach at an urban, Title I school, where over 97% of the students are economically disadvantaged, so there is a high need to cope with poverty and academic needs.
My Project
These t-shirts will help instill pride and build community within our school. Grade levels often have field trips, but it becomes hard to gather our group back together. If all of the students are wearing t-shirts representing our school this task would be easier. Also, when we are on trips, my students see other schools wearing school shirts and often wonder why we don't have school shirts as well. These t-shirts will help build community - all of the students and teachers will have on the same shirt. It will build pride - my students will feel good going on trips and attending community events because our shirts will stand out and show people we are a community of learners. My students will feel more like a school family with these shirts on.
With these t-shirts, our students will exude pride in their school and community.
The sense of community and family would shine through and be evident as they walk out the school - each wearing their trip shirts, representing our class and school community. It will be so much easier to find a member of our class if we all are wearing the same t-shirts. Our students will feel confident. Our students will be cohesive. These t-shirts will make such a huge difference in the lives of our students.
