Our third grade students struggle with making connections to curriculum and our standard based grading. However, they are excited to learn and want to code and explore. In my project we will make connections to our curriculum and standards based grading with spheros and coding. We will create projects that teach the students about the process of their learning. For example in reading we learn about story structure of characters, setting, and plot. We will use the spheros to create a sequence of the story and use the spheros as the characters. In the process students will be able to connect to the dialog and understanding the characters based on their settings. The spheros can also be used in math to show the process of solving a two step math word problem. Students will code the spheros to move through the steps of solving the problem. This will help students see the process in another way.
