Innnovations in Education - that's our school! Our school is a public charter school in a rural area of our state. I am a first year teacher in this wonderful public school and I have 21 first and second grade students in my class. Our school provides many opportunities for public speaking and performing at all grade levels. We are currently in the process of requesting high need status as defined by NCLB. We are the only public charter elementary school in our community.

Public speaking and performing is challenging for first and second graders who are usually 6 to 8 years old. Their voices are small and meek still and this makes it hard for them to be heard. Our school provides opportunities at school assemblies and school performances for all our students. The use of a wireless microphone would help our first and second graders to participate more effectively in these activities. Currently, it is hard to hear their little voices. I believe that it will also boost their confidence if their voices are heard better.

Two microphone sets that can be used with four students at a time would be wonderful for our performance arts school.

Your help in our project will foster self confidence, and allow for better and more effective participation in presenting and performing at our school. I believe if we foster this self confidence at the primary grades, we will build self confident and assured learners for tomorrow. Thank you for your support!
