My Project

In the world of Kindergarten we are building the foundation of strong readers by teaching them letters, sounds and letter sound pairs. Secret Stories is proven to help students grow and succeed in these skills. We have used free videos on Secret Stories that are available on YouTube and it has allowed us to see a significant increase of being able to identify sounds of letters. This also has led to an increase of students able to decode and write words independently using the Secret Stories they have learned. The Secret Stories kit will have endless useful resources in the classroom including posters we can hang up, songs, lessons and a variety of activites.

By providing each Kindergarten teacher a Secret Stories kit, we will have the opportunity to increase reading and phonics skills in our students to help them reach grade level expectations.

Our students have a deep love for learning. These incredible students enjoy to ask questions and observe the world around them. They have been fully engaged in any discussion that touches on the "Secret Stories" and quite often ask to learn more of the special secrets. By obtaining the full kit for each teacher, it will provide us with the chance to deepen that love of learning and increase motivation in our readers.
