Students have been very involved with hands-on learning engagements since starting Kindergarten here at Johnson K-8. This project will allow them to inquire into the life cycle of a baby chick throughout their school days. Using the incubator, it will allow for the opportunity to visually watch as chicks grow in the eggs and soon hatch! Our grand conversations and observations will allow the students to understand the importance of an incubator and how it keeps growing chicks safe. Our students have taken action in a variety of ways and applying their learning in every day life. Through this project, the students will become worldly scientist providing an opportunity that students may never experience and will never forget. We will be able to inquire how chicks live, and their needs to survive. This is where the supplies come into play, such as a heat lamp, food water kit, and bedding. They are living creatures that need to survive just like humans. We will be able to really discuss why these needs are vital in the life cycle of a chick.
