Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science is an essential part of my students' education. Due to lack of funding, lack of resources, and a plethora of other obstacles, science education in inner-city and low-income schools is negatively impacted by these factors.

Studies show that students in low socioeconomic areas score lower on science assessments than their more affluent counterparts.

I want to bridge the gap that my students face when it comes to science and science experiments. STEM lessons are much more engaging with valuable hands on experiences.

I want to provide my students with resources like building blocks, magnets and other resources that will expose them to hands-on science experiences. With the requested resources, they will be able to build their own creations and projects that will help bring our lessons to life. These children deserve a chance to be successful and I will do what it takes to help them get to their highest potential.
