This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have 18 creative and hard-working students who show interest in science and math. After working on an assignment that requires heavy reading and writing, students often crave a break from the books.

With this project I am to provide students a large library of building blocks, magnetic tiles, magnetic sticks, and floor puzzles to leisurely work on during small transition times.

I have a class with many English Learners (ELs) who face challenges when spending most of the day reading third grade texts. Despite the challenges they face, they constantly choose the challenges as opportunities to learn more. When students need a “brain break” from their hard work while reading, this building library will serve as a way to rejuvenate the brain!
