We have been using the sensory items daily during centers, transitions, and calming breaks to help students stay regulated and ready to learn. One special moment was watching several students work together in the new play area during a social skills activity. They practiced sharing, taking turns, and communicating with peers in ways that were difficult for them earlier in the year. The sensory tools have also helped students stay focused longer during academic lessons and reduced frustration during transitions.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces immediately lit up with excitement. Many students smiled, clapped, and eagerly explored the new sensory items. The new play area quickly became a favorite part of the classroom, and students were excited to participate and engage with their classmates. It was wonderful to see them feel comfortable, calm, and happy in their learning environment.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue incorporating the sensory materials into daily learning routines and social-emotional lessons. We are working on building communication, cooperative play, and independence through structured play activities and small-group instruction.
