Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me kick off our school's book club. The purpose of the club is to spark/foster a love for literature of all genres while simultaneously building a strong sense of community. The club participants will work together to select the books read each month from the books above, spend time expressing/accepting different perspectives through student-led discussions, collaborate to fundraise additional funds, and disconnect from media to reconnect with peers.

With these books, the club will be able to provide inclusivity by ensuring all club members have access to the books we will be reading.

Every book on this list has been selected with student interest in mind. I have selected several books that completely align with what students enjoy reading, and I also selected several books that will push students out of their reading comfort zones. Every book that is donated will be carefully labeled and logged when checked out. Many students have already shown interest in joining the club, and this project will help ensure their interests become a reality.
