My Project

Kindergarten is where the foundation of math begins—through hands-on exploration, play, and meaningful experiences. My students are curious, energetic learners who thrive when they can touch, build, and interact with numbers in fun and engaging ways.

Many of them are just beginning to understand number sense, counting, and basic addition, and they need concrete tools to help these concepts come to life.

I am requesting a variety of interactive math materials that will transform math time into an exciting, hands-on learning experience. Tools like magnetic number flash cards and math card sets will help students practice recognizing numbers and building early addition and subtraction skills. Balance scale games (like the frog and penguin sets) will allow students to physically see and feel how numbers compare, building a deeper understanding of equality and number relationships.

Manipulatives such as chain links and the mini motor math activity set will support counting, sorting, and fine motor development—all essential skills at this age. The math dice game will encourage playful practice with counting and number combinations, helping students build confidence while having fun. LCD writing tablets will give students a reusable, low-pressure way to practice writing numbers, solving problems, and showing their thinking.

These materials will allow me to differentiate instruction so all students—especially those who need extra support—can work at their level and grow. In our classroom, over three-quarters of students come from low-income households, and many benefit greatly from hands-on, engaging learning opportunities that they may not otherwise have access to.
