This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are magnet students at a Fine Arts high school if the metro Atlanta area. The students attend this school to focus on their talent. While working on their talent, my goals is to also help them focus on health and wellness.
Most of my students receive limited access to health, wellness and recreational opportunities because we do not offer extracurricular sports here at my school.
I would like to supply my students with fitness related activities to help them achieve and maintain good health.
We are a Title I, low-income school which serves over 600 talented students. They are amazing students who come to school filled with enthusiasm to learn new things each day! I want to continue to inspire these young people to have enthusiasm for their health.
My Project
Most of my students receive limited access to health, wellness and recreational opportunities because we do not offer extracurricular sports. We are in needs of fitness related items to complete our wellness and fitness area that students can use after school.
We are in need of stability balls, and a ball cart to store them.
With these items, we would like to give our students choices on how to improve their physical, mental, emotional and social health during all four years of high school instead of just 9th grade. We want to create this wellness center to provide opportunities for students to become well-rounded.
