Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach students with Autism grades 9-12. We use a functional curriculum. My subject area is Functional Math. We work on skills to help our students with independent living skills. We work on math at the store, recipes, budgets, reading recipes and many more skills to make them independent. My students are amazing. They are creative, artistic, caring, grateful for everything. The students love animals and really enjoy our science lessons on animals.

Providing my students with these baking materials will help them in the area of Life Skills, math skills for independent living, job skills, and allow our group of students to plan some community based outings.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
