My students need to engage in real-life experiences that expose them to all that our world has to offer. They deserve exposure to science and STEM beyond what we can offer in the classroom. We are requesting transportation to the Exploratorium.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are dreamers, wishers, believers... They want to be good cops, dancers, teachers, and politicians when they grow up. They are the future. The students I teach are Spanish-speakers from many different walks of life. Our diversity makes us special.
Our families inspire me with their love, generosity, and dedication to education.
My students are tiny and their plans for the future are BIG. Our school is in East Oakland and 100% of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our families work hard to provide their children with everything they need and want. Nonetheless, many of our students have had limited experiences outside of their own neighborhood. They all deserve a fun, experiential educational experience with memories that will last them a lifetime.
My Project
Many of my students have never been outside of Oakland. A visit to the Exploratorium will broaden their horizons and open doors for their futures. Exposure to Science and STEM activities will inspire some of them to wonder, engage and explore in ways that have not been possible for them before.
We will learn about the world around us, how things work and how much technology is out there that we take for granted in our daily lives.
Most importantly, we will have fun learning about the world around us. The Exploratorium will inspire all of us to be learners and thinkers. Thank you for sharing the world of science with us.
