My Project

Help Bring Social Studies to Life with Studies Weekly!

My 5th grade students are curious, energetic learners who thrive when lessons are engaging, interactive, and connected to the real world.

In social studies, we explore important topics such as  history, geography, government, and culture. While our textbooks provide valuable information, I want to give my students an additional resource that makes learning even more exciting and meaningful.

I am requesting funding for Studies Weekly newspapers for my classroom. These colorful, student-friendly newspapers are designed specifically for elementary learners and present social studies content in a fun and engaging format. Each issue includes articles, maps, photographs, activities, and comprehension questions that help reinforce the skills and concepts we are learning in class.

Studies Weekly will give my students the opportunity to strengthen their reading comprehension while learning about history and current events in an accessible way. The newspapers encourage critical thinking, discussion, and hands-on learning that helps students connect classroom lessons to the world around them.

Many of my students learn best when information is presented in a variety of ways. These newspapers will provide an exciting supplement to our curriculum and help increase student engagement, confidence, and understanding. They will also allow students to practice important literacy skills while building a deeper appreciation for social studies.
