Bringing Color to Math Class

My students need Frixion pens, and Frixion markers to bring color to their math projects. These amazing pens erase as well or better than pencil and make geometric drawings pop with color.

My Students

W. W. High School is a great place to teach because we have great students. The school is in a small close knit rural community. Our students may not get the best materials but they make the most of what they have. One thing that they excel at is working together and helping out their classmates. This spirit of cooperation makes learning in groups a very effective tool.

Our area consists primarily of farming and manufacturing.

The students at our school are very mechanical and like things that are hands-on. With continued automation and outsourcing, the county has one of the highest unemployment rates in our state. All the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch through a federal grant program for high need areas. Students at our school are very talented and willing; they just need opportunity.

My Project

This year I saw these amazing pens on TV. I ordered a pack of pens and markers thinking they couldn't possibly erase well but WOW! They erase like nothing was ever written on the paper, even better than most pencils.

I like to have my students do a lot of collaborative group work and projects in my math classes.

Often students want to add color to their diagrams and formulas but it often results in them making a mistake and having to either redraw their posters or leave it with scribbled out mistakes. These pens work so well they can use them in their regular notes by adding color to keywords and diagrams for emphasis. Mistakes aren't a problem - they disappear like magic!
