Bring Our STEAM Projects to Life in 3D!

Help me give my students a 3D printer and filament to bring more creativity and technology into our classroom.

This project expired on December 11, 2019.

My Students

My students come from a variety of different economic and ethnic backgrounds. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in New York. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Our school is home to general, special, and gifted education programs. We have students that range from one end of the spectrum to another. We have many different programs offered in our school that range from studio art, ballet, hip hop, drama, and chess to name a few. Our school's instructional focus zones in on reaching every learner with a differentiated approach where we tell the students to DREAM big, INSPIRE others, to ACHIEVE their goals.

My classroom is very project-based and students lead their own learning with guidance and examples.

My Project

Through the use of a 3D printer, every subject can come to life with some design. This allows students a hands-on approach to help understand information based on what they're studying.

A 3D printer helps make technology relevant, interesting, and relatable for students to create designs and see them come to life.

Students will learn how to design electronically through the use of various CAD design programs. Through the use of this 3D printer and filaments, students will be able to print their projects and see their STEAM designs come to life. A 3D printer will help all my students engage with technology through a hands-on approach and develop the skills of design on a computer. This printer will bring 21st Century learning skills to life in our classroom.
