My Students

The technology in my school is old and getting older. I use an 8 year old laptop that has survived only through my constant resurrections. The student laptops have slowed down to a crawl making any real work impossible to complete. Issues like these have plagued my school in recent years.

My school draws a very diverse group of students.

They are passionate for learning and for the outside of the box education that my school tries to use whenever it can. My students are inquisitive and creative since, as a journalism school, we encourage independent student thinking and learning.

My Project

My school has smart boards and access to some great online resources but not enough projectors for students and teachers to use these resources in the classroom. The projector would be used for a variety of activities from viewing educational videos from Brainpop to interacting with the Smartboard during lessons and for students using the projector to present their work and learning.

I try to make my classroom as dynamic and engaging as possible.

This becomes extremely difficult without the visual aids that a projector provides. Many of my lowest level students need the visuals, they need to interact with the lesson. Although the projector will help all of my classes learn the material, my lowest level students would benefit the most from having the projector in the classroom.
